Professor Karen Block leads the Migration and Health Unit in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. She is also Academic Convenor of the Anti-racism Hallmark Research Initiative and Deputy Director of the Melbourne Social Equity Institute. Karen is an internationally recognised migration scholar who leads a program of applied research in close collaboration with all levels of government and NGO partners across multiple sectors spanning health, migration, education and employment. Her research includes a range of projects involving migrants and refugees focused on mobility justice, climate migration, health inequalities, gender-based violence, and anti-racism.
