Dr Peter Hayes is a Research Fellow at the CQUniversity Appleton Institute. Peter undertakes human factors and psychology-based research mainly in the emergency management sector. He is interested in non-technical skills, decision making, and developing expertise through the use of simulation, coaching and mentoring. He is also interested in the use of social media during emergencies and the mental health of emergency management personnel.
