About

Natalie Middleton has dedicated the past two decades to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), with a strong focus on fire and incident management. In addition to her professional role, she actively serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Victoria, demonstrating her commitment to community safety and fire management across state lines.

Currently, Natalie holds the position of Team Leader – Operations at NPWS. Her team oversees a broad and critical portfolio, including coordinating overseas and interstate deployments, pre-season preparedness activities, the Rapid Response Program, as well as the development and implementation of operational guidelines and procedures. She also plays a key role in ensuring the safety and capability of firefighting personnel, through oversight of crew protection systems and the standards for personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing (PPC).

Natalie is also a fire trainer with NPWS, where she passionately shares her extensive skills, knowledge, and experience with new firefighters. Her contributions extend nationally through her long-standing membership with the AFAC PPC Group, and she has recently been appointed Chair of the FFMG Fire Equipment Officers Development Group – a testament to her leadership and expertise in the field.
