This project will review the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (Victoria) (DEECA) ecosystem resilience monitoring program to ensure that its resampling for long-term monitoring is scientifically robust and adequate to inform fire management.

Project details

This project is commissioned by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (Victoria) (DEECA).

This project will review DEECA’s ecosystem resilience monitoring program to ensure that its resampling for long-term monitoring is scientifically robust and adequate to inform fire management.

The expected outcomes from this project are:

  • a clearly defined long-term sampling strategy that underpins future Ecosystem Resilience Program direction
  • that the Ecosystem Resilience Program is equipped to collect robust ecosystem resilience data to inform and improve fire management on public land
  • that the Ecosystem Resilience Program continues to provide appropriate quantitative data for relevant state-wide metrics to fulfil DEECA’s obligations in the Code of Practice for Bushfire Management on Public Land.
