Expressions of Interest are now open for two research projects:

Creating a ‘best practice’ monitoring, evaluation and reporting approach for large, complex programs

This project has been commissioned by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) to support the development of a revised Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) Bushfire Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting Program Plan (BMERP).

The research will review the monitoring, evaluation and reporting designs of large, multi-scale bushfire/wildfire management programs, both national and international, to develop a ‘best practice’ guidance for FFMVic monitoring, evaluation, and reporting program improvement.

EOI submissions due by 5pm AEST, 16 August 2024 to research@naturalhazards.com.au.

Find out more about this EOI, including how to submit, how to register for the online briefing and any frequently asked questions, on the Creating a ‘best practice’ monitoring, evaluation and reporting approach for large, complex programs page.

Conserving and reconnecting floodplains to mitigate flood risk

Part of Natural Hazards Research Australia’s core research program, this project will fill knowledge gaps in implementing natural flood risk mitigation strategies in Australia. The research will provide communities, governments and industries with better information and tools to use nature-based solutions to reduce flood risk, save lives and minimise the need for lengthy and costly community recovery efforts.

EOI submissions due by 5pm AEST, 6 September 2024 to research@naturalhazards.com.au.

An online briefing of this project will be held at 3:00pm AEST, 13 August 2024 to provide a more detailed overview of the project and the opportunity for interested parties to pose specific questions.
