Sam is the Bushfire Systems Specialist at AFAC.
Sam is a spatial systems professional with 10 years experience working in the emergency management sector. Sam has a Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information Science and a Bachelor of Science (Geography/Environmental Science) from the University of Queensland and University of Tasmania, respectively.
Sam commenced working for AFAC as the Bushfire Systems Specialist in 2021, while on secondment from the Tasmania Fire Service. Apart from working on the NAFC Resource to Risk Project, Sam is working on the Spark Operational project collaborating with CSIRO’s Data61 to deliver a nationally consistent bushfire modelling capability.
