Vana Demetriou
About
Vana is a senior member of the Research Services Team at Natural Hazards Research Australia. Her primary focus is supporting the efficient development, implementation, and management of research projects in the Centre and acting as a mentor to her colleagues in the Research Services Team. Before joining the Centre, Vana worked as a research assistant in bushfire behaviour and management and as a Research and Development Coordinator in the construction industry. Vana holds a Bachelor of Environments, majoring in Geographies, Politics and Cultures and a Masters in Forest Ecosystem Science, both from the University of Melbourne. Vana is passionate about community-led capacity building, strength-based approaches to disaster risk reduction and child-centred disaster risk reduction.
