This project will conduct a comprehensive analysis of recommendations from various inquiries, reports and reviews related to natural hazards and disaster risk reduction. 

The aim is to identify key recurring themes, patterns and insights that can inform future policy development, emergency management strategies and risk mitigation efforts.

Project details

The Natural Hazards Research Australia Inquiries and Reviews database contains a catalogue of 324 inquiries and reviews relating to emergency management and natural hazards across all jurisdictions in Australia between 1886 and 2023.

This database can be used for a variety of purposes including comparing equivalent recommendations between inquiries, themes and jurisdictions and tracking inquiries across jurisdiction, year and type.

This project will conduct a comprehensive analysis of recommendations from various inquiries, reports and reviews related to natural hazards and disaster risk reduction. 

The aim is to identify key recurring themes, patterns and insights that can inform future 
policy development, emergency management strategies and risk mitigation efforts.
