In October 2021, Natural Hazards Research Australia published a discussion paper, Research priorities for disaster risk reduction and community resilience to the impacts of natural hazards, which summarised the top research priorities based on feedback from end-user stakeholders. This initial feedback was gathered in online surveys in July and August 2021 and a series of eight online workshops held in August.
The Centre then sought feedback on the research priorities discussion paper from end-user stakeholders, researchers and research organisations throughout October. The feedback received on the research priorities is being used to inform the final version of the research priorities for natural hazard disaster risk reduction and community resilience that will guide the medium- and long-term research program as it develops.
