Fadia Isaac, one of Natural Hazards Research Australia's Postgraduate Research Scholars has been selected as a finalist in Cooperative Research Australia's 2023 Early Career Researchers Competition.
Supported by the Centre's scholarship program, Fadia's research at Federation University is implementing an online, self-paced psychological treatment for sleep disturbances in those affected by bushfires, including trauma and PTSD sleep symptoms such as insomnia and nightmares. Fadia will be joined by these three finalists in a panel at the Collaborate Innovate 2023 conference in Adelaide on Monday 10 July:
- Bhavya Mod, University of Newcastle/Soil CRC: Sugarcane leaves nanomaterials for carbon storage and soil fertility.
- Zoe Piper, Australian National University: Why, how and with whom do individuals develop tri-sector careers.
- David Li, University of Sydney/iMove CRC: “Door-to-Door” carbon emission calculator for airlines – its decarbonisation potential and impact.
The Early Career Researchers Competition is the annual competition run by Cooperative Research Australia, celebrating research and challenging early career researchers to enhance their communication skills, receive peer reviews and gain skills through presentation of their research to a broad audience. The competition is supported by the University of South Australia.
The winner will be announced at the Collaborative Innovate 2023 gala dinner on Tuesday 11 July.
