The latest research on improving community risk assessment was on show in August's Hazardous Webinar.
Held on 15 August, over 200 attendees heard from lead researcher Dr Nadar Naderpajouh (University of Sydney) and end-user Sara Morgan (New South Wales State Emergency Service) about the contemporary challenges and the future of community risk assessment.
Nadar and Sara explained the findings from the Community risk assessment project and answered plenty of audience questions. Replay the webinar below or visit the event page to see the slides.
This research reviewed current risk assessment processes, working closely with NSW SES, to understand the challenges and needs across the emergency services sector, including insights from other relevant sectors. The results will inform future multi-hazard, compound and cascading community risk assessment approaches.
September's Hazardous Webinar topic and date is to be confirmed.
