Two new Participants have joined Natural Hazards Research Australia to guide the priorities of natural hazards research and resilience:
- After significant negotiations, the Northern Territory Government has signed up as a Participant of the Centre, which will significantly boost the research capacity of the region through new projects tailored to NT priorities. This partnership will be coordinated by the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services and will include other NT-government-operated organisations and agencies.
- Fire Rescue Victoria have also joined as a Participant, boosting the evidence-based fire and emergency response across the state. The partnership with FRV, in addition to the existing formal Participant agreements with Country Fire Authority Victoria, Emergency Management Victoria, Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and the Victorian State Emergency Service, better ensures that Victoria’s emergency service agencies are working with the Centre to strengthen the state's disaster resilience and risk reduction moving forward.
Becoming a Participant
The Centre is always open to welcoming new Participants that are committed to building resilience and risk reduction through research collaboration.
