Natural Hazards Research Australia (the Centre) is seeking a Science and Innovation Director to join its Executive Leadership Team. The Science and Innovation Director will lead the Centre’s research strategy, liaise with industry and sector stakeholders, and drive awareness of important research and innovation projects around the country. 

The Science and Innovation Director is critical to the success of the Centre and provides strategic leadership in advancing scientific research and innovation to achieve the Centre’s vision and mission. The role will be the primary authority for the research and innovation direction of the Centre and, along with the CEO, drives thought leadership across the sectors in which the Centre seeks to inform and influence. 

Working closely with the CEO, the Executive Leadership Team, Centre staff, end-users and research providers the Science and Innovation Director will also lead the delivery of the Centre’s research data management framework, the Centre’s education and training activities, the development of the Centre’s continuous improvement strategy, and the implementation of the Centre’s research impact evaluation framework.
