Drive First Nations inclusion and empowerment in natural hazards research by joining Natural Hazards Research Australia’s (the Centre) new First Nations Pathways Working Group, with Expressions of Interest open until 13 December 2024.
The Centre recognises the importance of its role in including and empowering First Nations Peoples in disaster resilience and natural hazards research. This commitment in conjunction with the recently completed Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan is guiding the Centre’s development of a First Nations Strategy so that words and actions align in our commitment to reconciliation and empowering First Nations voices in research priorities and pathways.
To ensure this strategy’s development and implementation reflects First Nations Peoples’ voices, experiences and needs, the Centre will form a First Nations Pathways Working Group solely comprising First Nations leaders, supported by Centre staff.
If you or someone in your network is interested in shaping the Centre’s First Nations Strategy, more information can be found here or by contacting Node Research Manager, George Goddard. This represents a unique opportunity to be part of a group that guides the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Centre's First Nations Strategy.
Expressions of Interest can be made by completing this form and submitting with a CV to research@naturalhazards.com.au by 5:00pm AEDT, 13 December 2024.
