Expressions of Interest are now open for a project that will research the effects of bushfires and planned burning on ecosystem resilience in the Lowan Mallee Ecological Fire Group (EFG).

Lowan Mallee Ecological Fire Group return sampling is commissioned by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (Victoria) (DEECA) to support evidence-based decision making for bushfire management in Victoria.

This project will achieve its objectives by:

  1. providing knowledge and data-based evidence to support strategic bushfire management modelling, evaluation, reporting and decision-making
  2. assessing ecosystem resilience and guide fire management effectiveness by using improved empirical data to analyse and adapt programs
  3. verifying that underlying assumptions or evaluation of existing EFG data is robust, scientifically valid and enables trend analysis.

EOI submissions close 5pm AEST, 6 September to research@naturalhazards.com.au

EOIs should be submitted in a document that addresses the specified criteria, including a project proposal and budget.

Find out more about this EOI, including how to submit, on the Lowan Mallee Ecological Fire Group return sampling project page.
