Early career researchers are now invited to apply for Natural Hazards Research Australia’s (the Centre) Early Career Researcher Development and Industry Fellowships.
This round of Fellowship submissions opens 30 September and closes 5:00pm AEDT, 15 November 2024.
Centre Fellowships support the professional development of late-stage PhD students, early career researchers and industry researchers by expanding their research networks, facilitating new collaborations and building their research credentials.
Two Fellowship opportunities are available:
- Early Career Researcher Development Fellowships of up to $15,000 for PhD-qualified researchers employed in a research position within a research institution or university, for up to five years after their graduation. It is also open to full-time PhD students who have successfully completed the equivalent of two years of full-time study.
- Early Career Researcher Industry Fellowships up to $7,500 for PhD-qualified researchers employed in industry, whose employer is a Centre Participant and the applicant’s current role is actively involved in research or research translation in a field closely linked to the Centre’s research themes and research priorities.
Fellows benefit from opportunities including networking opportunities, mentoring, promotion of research and connection into the Centre’s knowledge network.
The Centre particularly encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disability, LGBTIQ+ people, and people with family and caring responsibilities.
