Our CEO Andrew Gissing takes the end-of-year opportunity to reflect on 2025, a year in which the Centre has continued to develop research knowledge and insights to better manage the impacts of natural hazards.
In a year of global disasters leading to local research lessons, Natural Hazards Research Australia (the Centre) continued to build Australian knowledge, planning, research and workforce capacity to help ensure communities are safer, more resilient and sustainable in the face of more frequent and severe natural hazards.
The Centre thanks all our partners, from our 32 Participants to the 300-plus researchers in our knowledge network. As the world seeks a better understanding of how to manage more frequent and severe natural hazards, together with you we take on that challenge for Australia in 2026.
