This special September Hazardous Webinar discussed the research lessons we can take so far from the tragic July 2025 Texas floods and what they mean for Australia.
Co-hosted by Natural Hazards Research Australia and AFAC, this event is eligible for CPD through AFAC’s Emergency Management Professionalisation Scheme (EMPS).
Our panel of international and local experts shared floodplain management, scientific and situational perspectives of the rapid onset flash flooding along the Guadalupe River that resulted in at least 135 fatalities. The panel also discussed local risk of similar devastating flood in Australia and what we can learn to ensure people, communities and infrastructure are prepared.
