When facing threats from similar or different compound hazards, individuals, communities and businesses need to be prepared and respond effectively. What does the research say on how emergency management organisations can effectively engage with communities to ensure coordinated and consistent public information?
In this webinar, the project team from Awareness, education and communication for compound natural hazards discussed their research findings, global best practice approaches to community engagement in compound natural hazards and their community co-design methodology. They also provided an end-user perspective on how these findings will be applied in practice.
The project developed a framework to guide communication with communities, co-designed with communities and potential stakeholders to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and immediately useful to emergency preparedness, management and recovery agencies and the communities they serve.
